Por una historia de la desigualdad en el largo plazo. Fuentes y métodos para medir la inequidad en épocas pre-estadísticas
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper intends to evaluate the scope and limitations of some sources that can be used to measure economic inequality in pre-statistical periods, especially post-mortem inventories and some economic censuses conducted for fiscal purposes on a more universal pretext. Both have been used by historians for some time and have various problems. For censuses noted especially the undervaluation of the capitals and in the inventories on notes a strong social and age bias. However both have an irreplaceable potential in the absence of alternatives, but require precautions and methodological strategies to correct such defects.
