Abstract

This article makes a theoretical review of the different perspectives on digital media and politics. The reflection is about how the use of the internet has changed deliberative practices, the sphere of public opinion and contentious political processes. Regulatory
explanations fall short in policy adjustment processes. The acceleration of political crises and contentious phenomena in citizens open up new narratives that force us to rethink the normative visions of social science disciplines.
