El funcionamiento del tributo en Nueva Granada a finales del siglo XVII: Guatavita en 1690
Main Article Content
Abstract
This essay examines the mechanisms of political articulation, which were created between the corregidor and the Indian people who formed part of the Guatavitan partido. It offers an analysis of the nature and the amount of tribute paid by the Indians and how the corregidor managed and spent the resources. It studies the fiscal burdens that were imposed on the encomienda and the political ties which were developed between the encomenderos, corregidores and the Colonial State. The historical evidence that supports this research comes from the bookkeeping that the Guatavitan corregidor presented before the colonial authorities at the end of the 17th century.
