Editorial Policy
Manuscripts must be submitted to the journal through the OJS 3 platform. An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to the author via the system, using the email address provided during registration.
The official website provides the full guidelines and documents required for publication in the journal:
Within a maximum period of thirty days from the receipt of each manuscript, authors will receive a notification indicating whether the submission has been preliminarily accepted for peer review or declined. If the manuscript presents formal deficiencies or does not align with the general or specific thematic scope of the issue, the Editorial Team will reject the submission.
The official date of submission will not be recorded until the manuscript has been correctly received. Authors are strongly encouraged to verify compliance with all items in the pre-submission checklist before submitting their work.
Manuscripts are evaluated scientifically through a double-blind peer review process—anonymous and confidential—by two external experts in the relevant field, who provide objective assessments and ensure the absence of conflicts of interest. The anonymity of both authors and reviewers is strictly maintained throughout all stages of the process.
External reviewers must follow the criteria outlined in the review rubric, upon which the evaluation reports are based. Reviewers will determine whether the manuscript is:
-
Suitable for publication without revisions;
-
Suitable for publication with revisions; or
-
Not suitable for publication.
In case of discrepancies between the two reviews, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer, whose assessment will determine the final decision on publication.
If reviewers recommend acceptance with revisions, the manuscript will be returned to the authors so they can address the suggested changes regarding length, structure, or style, while maintaining the integrity of the original content. The revised version must not exceed the length established in the present policy.
The review protocol used by the journal’s reviewers is publicly available. The maximum period for scientific evaluation, once the Editorial Team has completed the preliminary review, is 100 days.
Manuscripts that are positively evaluated and require either major or minor revisions must be resubmitted within a maximum of 30 days.
All authors will receive the anonymized peer review reports so they may make the necessary improvements or provide appropriate responses. Throughout the double-blind review process, objectivity, transparency, and impartiality are strictly upheld.
Authors of accepted articles will receive the proofs in PDF format by email for orthotypographic correction within three days. Only minor typographical corrections may be made to the content of the already reviewed manuscript.
In general, once the external reviews have been considered, the Editorial Committee bases its acceptance or rejection decisions on the following criteria:
-
Relevance and timeliness of the topic.
-
Significance and contribution to scientific knowledge.
-
Originality.
-
Scientific reliability and methodological rigor.
-
Organization, logical coherence, and formal presentation.
-
Acknowledgment of external funding (public or private).
-
Co-authorship and degree of international collaboration among authors.
-
Quality of writing and clarity of exposition.
Authors will have access to the publication online. Each author will also receive two printed copies for free distribution among colleagues and institutions.
Authors agree to serve as members of the International Council of Scientific Reviewers for a period of three years following the publication of their manuscript.
